Where is Moganshan?
Moganshan is located roughly one hour north west of Hangzhou and is just under 2 and a half hour drive from Shanghai along the Huzhou highway.

Where do we get picked up at the Hangzhou train station?
On your arrival at the hangzhou train station arrivals hall, please look out for the big naked logo. The details of your driver will be sent to you prior your departure.
Where in Moganshan is naked Retreats?
Our houses are located in the small village of Sanjiuwu ( 395) half way up the south eastern side of Moganshan. It is tucked away from the tourists paths and is only a 20 – 30 minute walk up to the
main parts of Moganshan.

Is there nearby accommodation for drivers?
There are hotels at the foot of the mountain in Moganshan Zhen where drivers can stay for about RMB 100- RMB 150 per night. It takes 15 minutes to drive to the naked houses.
Do you have baby cots?
We can provide baby cots on request.
Do you have enough heating?
We have either radiators or wood fire ovens in each room as well as extra heaters during the winter.
Do you provide towels and bedding?
We provide all towels and bedding including our “naked” blankets.
Do we need to bring our own drinking water?
Drinking water along with tea (Lipton English and Green tea), coffee (Nescafe instant) is provided by naked.
Do we take credit cards & is there an ATM close by?
naked retreats take credit cards, for the domestic cards it charge 2% procedure fee, the international cards it charge 4%. The closest ATM is 20 minutes drive away, rarely of the hotels and restaurants nearby take credit cards. If you plan to be taking a few meals around Moganshan make sure you have cash.
Are there spare mattresses and duvets in the houses?
We have spare mattresses and duvet in the houses if needed for the larger groups of people. Please let us know in advance.
Are there shops and restaurants in the area?
The closest shops to us are about a 20 min drive to the foot of the mountain where there is a small supermarket, a small wet market for groceries and a couple of Chinese restaurants. 20-30 minutes uphill walk from us at the top of the mountain you’ll find a few more Chinese restaurants and Moganshan Lodge (a western style café/ restaurant). The closest main town is Wukang (also called Deqing) and is about 30 mins drive away where there is a Centurymart, a large wet market and a KFC.
How far away are the naked houses from The Moganshan Lodge?
The Lodge is located in the main parts of Mogan mountain and is only a 20- 30 minute walk from our houses.
What included in naked Retreats Ayi services?
naked Ayis are available to clean the houses between 8am - 5 pm each day. On arrival you will be asked the time you would like the Ayi to come to the house in the morning and whether you would like breakfast prepared or not. Please place the “do not disturb” sign on the door outside if you do not want to be disturbed. Feel free to tip the Ayis at your own discretion.
Can we cook for ourselves at the naked Houses ?
We encourage our guests to cook for themselves and make use of our fully equipped kitchens with ovens, pots and pans as well as microwaves.
How much storage space do you have in your fridges?
Both the Bamboo Bungalow and the Purple Ridge Lodge has a double door fridge for you to use. The Bamboo Studio has a mini bar fridge.
What meals and catering can you provide at your lodges?
We provide local Chinese home-cooked style meals and different western meals. If you want to do your own BBQ. Charcoal is sold by the bag at RMB 50.
Do you do pack lunches?
Yes we do. This is great for those of you who want to be out and about hiking and biking around, we can provide a pack lunch or a picnic basket to save you from having to worry. This needs to be ordered 24 hours in advance.
Do you have wines and beers at the houses?
Our houses are all stocked with a variety of wines and beers together with a price list inside the bar cabinet which you can help yourself to and at the end of your stay, our staff onsite will bill you directly. What activities and entertainment can be found at the naked Houses and in Moganshan?
Walks
There are many paths, historic sights and natural treasures to be explored around the area. Starting from right behind or nearby the houses, there are many paths and walks you can go on, most walks are laid with stones and quite straight forward. Maps of trails and walks are available in the houses.
Around the houses
Large open areas surround the houses and are ideal for reading, relaxing and great for children to play safely outdoors. Badminton rackets and basketballs are available at the houses.
Our large lounge beds with a flat screen TV & DVD will keep most entertained on those rainy days. We have a small DVD library but please fell free to bring your own. A variety of board games are available for the evenings.
Fishing
There is a reservoir that is a 10-20 minutes downhill walk from the houses and many have gone for a dip and fishing in the summer. Fishing rods are available for hire at the Purple Ridge Lodge at RMB 50/ day, please ask our ground staff if you wish to hire.
Tea Picking
Try your hand at tea picking in one of the nearby tea plantations. This is not as easy as it sounds and requires a lot of patience! Take home the amount of tea you pick once it has been prepared, and packaged by Mr. Zhu, the plantation owner and our neighbour.
Tennis
There is a tennis court 20- 30 minutes walk away from the naked houses at the Xiang Zhu Cun hotel. Court rental costs RMB 60 /hour during daytime and RMB 100/ hour in the evenings with racquets and balls being provided. naked is able to facilitate your bookings.
Are there any churches around the area?
There are no churches that operate services in the area. There is a Buddhist temple about 45 minutes walk from the Purple Ridge Lodge.
What time do I check in and check out?
Check in time is at 3pm and check out time is at noon.
Will there be someone there to show us where to go?
Yes, we have a permanent naked residence, Judy Zhu. She will be there to meet you at the houses and help you settle into the houses.
Is there parking in the area?
There is car park available for all our guests. However, this area does sometimes fill up with bamboo during harvesting season so please do let us know in advance if you are taking your own car so as we can help arrange any alternatives.
Are you pet friendly?
Yes we are very much pet friendly as long as they are not dangerous and will not eat our neighbours’ chickens and ducks! We have 4 of our own dogs, Miss Bossy, Laddie, Oscar and Mei Li, who live up in the mountains, they are very friendly dogs and love to have visitors!
